Something arrived in the post

At some point, this vehicle belonged in someone’s cherished collection. Then it became something that needed sending away.

And now, it’s in my hand. And it will go into my collection. And it will go back to being cherished.

Some people are rather anal about what we can and can’t do with model cars, particularly vintage ones like this Majorette Volvo. But sometimes, it’s broken. And it needs to be fixed. And this one, especially, is needing of some care and attention. This Majorette Volvo 245 GL comes in copper with yellow “Touring Club de France” lettering. (Although, that’s mostly been worn away)

Not many motor enthusiasts will get flushed and dampened by the prospect of a Volvo. But having seen plenty up close (including the above red one my boyfriend and I were drooling over at a local car show) it’s easy to see why the owners become so furiously attached to them. My parents had four.
