Majorette Gifts…

Some photos of the Majorette cars I’ll be sending to a friend in the USA, who sadly cannot find these beautiful models himself. I hope he likes them!

I bought these today from Toys R Us, which has been providing a good stock of them recently. However, they are a little pricey – the gift pack cars worked out at just over £1.50 each (13 for £19.99) while the individual models were £2.99 each.

2017 is going to be an exciting year for Majorette. Check out their new brochure here… this may be the coolest sales booklet I’ve ever seen. Check out those petrol pump display stands. And it’s incredible to see a great big “Made in France” sticker…

    1. I have considered becoming a shareholder in Matchbox to give my frustrations some clout, then attending one of their gatherings – they need a good telling off for the bizarre distribution here!

      1. Problem is they don’t care – Mattel that is…..the brand is so US centric that it is alienating those who are not in the US.

It is not helped when we are told that the brand is going in the right direction by some bloggers (ok, one blogger in particular) –

      2. I am hoping we will see change. I think it’s the ridiculous exclusivity deal with Asda that is doing the most damage. I have already found a few great models from the 2016/2017 lines (the gold BMW, chrysler, infiniti, green mini, the Ford van and the chevy wagon) in Asda which is about the only place worth going if you want to find them.

Ten years ago the brand was doing really well and I regret not having the opportunity to pick them up as I was working abroad. If I am unable to find the rest of these 2017 models I’ll have to fall back on my friends in the US to do some exchanges.

The old American cars don’t bother me either, as I have always loved them and even write for a magazine which specialises in them! But yes, I would love to see more European cars. Did you check out the new brochure for Majorette? That retro gift set looks amazing.
